Head of Marketing

We’re looking for a Marketing professional to own our marketing strategy, continue strengthening the Code Ocean brand, and drive revenue growth through successful marketing campaigns.

What you’ll be doing

  • Direct all marketing efforts and manage Code Ocean’s marketing team, budget and vendors
  • Derive customer and market insights to create and tell the strategic narrative
  • Create targeted demand gen campaigns and programs to drive leads through the pipeline
  • Iterate Code Ocean’s digital and offline properties to reflect its go-to-market strategy, and evolve the go-to-market approach to key audiences and segments
  • Build messaging and positioning to place Code Ocean favorably in the competitive landscape
  • Ensure brand, visual and editorial consistency throughout Code Ocean’s properties
  • Prioritize thousands of possibilities and make high-impact choices that will increase marketing’s contribution to overall revenue

Role expectations:

  • Set, monitor, and direct team goals as well as prepare and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets to support their success
  • Launch and iterate on how Code Ocean introduces itself to specific markets and buyers
  • Drive expertise in the buying journey and the needs and expectations of the ideal customer profile
  • Work directly with the product team to introduce new product releases 
  • Propose and scope core marketing efforts as revenue allows for increased marketing spend
  • Develop programs to drive strong feedback loops with the product, sales, and customer success 
  • Experience in biotech or life sciences is a plus

Our ideal candidate

  • At least 5 years in marketing with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in B2B SaaS demand generation and product marketing activities
  • A strong leader with a proven track record in people management and success in building, developing and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Expertise in turning creative ideas into revenue-driving campaigns
  • An ability to plan campaigns and strategies across multiple channels and long periods of time
  • Strong project management skills, with acute attention to detail
  • Good technical and business understanding (e.g. architecture consideration, solution ROI)
